What is Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a safe and controlled treatment that gently exfoliates and resurfaces the skin. It’s one of the UK and Ireland’s most popular non-surgical skin rejuvenation treatments because it delivers visible results quickly and with no downtime.
Our treatment uses a stream of non-allergenic crystals to remove the outer layer of dead skin cells. Your therapist carefully directs the handset over the treatment area, and a mild suction lifts away both the crystals and dead skin. This reveals fresher, healthier skin underneath.
The treatment is chemical-free, non-invasive, and leaves skin looking brighter and smoother from the very first session. Over time, it also encourages your body to produce more collagen and elastin, improving skin health even further.
How Does Microdermabrasion Work?
A fine jet of crystals is passed over your skin to buff away dead cells, dirt, and build-up. At the same time, a vacuum action removes debris and stimulates blood flow. This dual action not only resurfaces the skin but also boosts the skin’s natural renewal process, encouraging collagen and elastin production.
With each treatment, the intensity can be adjusted to reach deeper layers. This makes it especially effective for tackling issues like acne scarring, pigmentation, or fine lines.
Benefits of Microdermabrasion
Immediate, visible results
A healthy, natural glow
No downtime. Return to your day straight after
Smoother texture and more even skin tone
Pain-free and comfortable
Long-term improvement thanks to boosted collagen and elastin
What Skin Concerns Can It Help?
Microdermabrasion is great for:
Acne and acne scarring
Pigmentation and blemishes
Dull or tired-looking skin
Congested pores
Fine lines and wrinkles
Sun damage
Uneven skin tone and texture
Enlarged pores
Who Is It For?
Because microdermabrasion stimulates collagen production, it’s especially effective for ageing skin, stretch marks, pigmentation, and scarring.
Anti-ageing: best results usually for ages 28 and up
Acne or scarring: suitable for younger clients too (under 16s need parental consent)
It’s a versatile treatment that can benefit almost all skin types and ages.
INTENSE PULSED LIGHT (IPL)
What is IPL?
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is a light-based therapy used for both cosmetic and therapeutic treatments. It’s most commonly chosen for hair reduction, but it’s also highly effective for photorejuvenation, acne, and vascular conditions like thread veins.
Unlike laser treatments, which use a single wavelength of light, IPL uses a broad spectrum. This means it can treat multiple concerns with one device. Our IPL system also includes a unique cooling cryo-handset, which makes treatments far more comfortable by creating a numbing effect on the skin’s surface.
How Does IPL Work?
IPL uses specific wavelengths of light to target areas within the skin. The type of light depends on the treatment:
Hair reduction: The light is absorbed by melanin (the pigment in hair), turning into heat that damages the follicle and prevents further growth.
Photorejuvenation: The light energy targets blood vessels or pigmentation. The heat causes controlled damage, and your body’s natural healing response removes the damaged tissue, leaving clearer, fresher skin.
A series of 3–6 treatments usually delivers noticeable improvements, while a full course of 6–10 sessions may be needed for lasting results. Treatments are spaced 3–4 weeks apart.
Benefits of IPL
Effective for multiple skin concerns in one treatment system
Stimulates collagen for plumper, smoother skin
Reduces wrinkles and softens fine lines
Long-lasting hair reduction
Non-invasive and non-surgical
No downtime. You can return to work or your daily activities straight after
What Can IPL Treat?
Unwanted hair (face, underarms, bikini, back, chest, and more)
Pigmentation and uneven tone
Acne and acne scarring
Vascular lesions (thread veins)
Sun damage
General skin texture and fine lines
Who Is IPL For?
Our IPL system is suitable for most skin types (except very dark skin tones). Unlike some less advanced systems, ours allows the practitioner to fine-tune the settings to your unique skin and hair combination.
Before starting, you’ll always have a consultation and patch test so we can confirm your skin type and explain what results you can expect.
